Star Wars DC17m Blaster Rifle

Supplemental post for my Republic Commando print project. The Model is of a DC17m blaster rifle from Republic Commando. I have taken inspiration from other kit bashed star wars weapons and converted the game only rifle into a design I feel much better fits the star wars Universe. As you can see in the model I have modeled parts of real world historical fire arms and used them in this redesign. The model is high poly and designed to be used in 3d printing, with it I have also created a lego compatible version and a version that Is solid and a single piece.

The lower: STG 44 (the upper portion was widened and extended to fit the panel better)
Rear Optics: Thompson lyman sight
Magazine: Fg 42 with the ammunition indicator seen in Republic commando
Charging handle: came from a PPD 40 and the spring and orientation are inspired by a Sten Gun
Front optics: were inspired by semi modern/ cold war era grenade launcher irons. (i.e. the china lake)

The entire weapon was modeled by myself and referenced from the game.
